Airtel has quietly introduced a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 395. This plan offers unlimited voice calls, 600 SMS, and 6GB of data for 56 days. Additional benefits include access to Apollo 24|7 Circle, free Hellotunes, and Wynk Music. After the 600 SMS limit is reached, local SMS will cost Rs 1 each and STD SMS will cost Rs 1.5 each. Data recharges can be done through Airtel`s data vouchers. Notably, this plan does not include unlimited 5G data, which Reliance Jio`s Rs 395 plan does offer.
Comparatively, Jio`s Rs 395 plan offers 84 days of validity, 100 SMS per day, and 5G services. This makes Jio`s plan cost Rs 4.70 per day, while Airtel`s costs Rs 7.05 per day.
With the recent general election results in India, there is an expectation that telecom companies may increase tariffs to boost their revenue.
