The state transport corporation will operate 2,005 special buses from Friday to Monday, in addition to their regular services, to facilitate weekend and Bakrid holiday travel for passengers.
According to an official release, the buses will operate as follows:
• On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 545, 585, and 140 special buses respectively will depart from Kilambakkam terminus to destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, and Salem.
• From Koyambedu, 15 special buses will operate each on Friday and Saturday bound for Tiruvannamalai.
• On Monday, 705 buses will be available for passengers returning to Chennai from various parts of the state.
The release mentioned that 10,894 passengers have booked seats for Friday, 5,957 for Saturday, and 5,926 for Monday. More bookings are expected, and passengers are encouraged to use online ticket booking services to plan their trips effectively.
