Rtn. Dr. Santosh Kumari Rathod was recently installed as the ninth president and the first female president of the Rotary Club of Chennai Central Elite (RCCE). This dynamic club, consisting of professionals and businesspersons aged 25 to 40, is dedicated to networking, friendship, and community service.
The installation ceremony, held at the Accord Metropolitan, featured a theme centered on Artificial Intelligence and saw the induction of Rtn. Rohit Raga as the club secretary and Siddharth Jamad as the club treasurer, alongside other energetic board members.
In her inaugural address, Dr. Rathod outlined several signature projects for the upcoming year, including a Paralympic event titled *Rotary Special Sport for Special Children from Special Schools*, where children from special schools will compete and be recognized. Other significant initiatives include:
• Sanitary Pad and Hygiene Kit Distribution: Aiming to provide essential hygiene products to female students in government schools.
• Blood Donation Drives: Encouraging community involvement in lifesaving activities.
• Mammogram and Cervical Cancer Prevention Camps: Offering crucial health services to women.
• Parental Awareness Programs: Leveraging her expertise as a pediatric dentist to raise awareness about sleep and airway issues, which can lead to snoring and sleep apnea in adults.
The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Mahaveer Bothra, District Governor of Rotary District 3233, who lauded the club`s dedication to innovative community service. Under Dr. Rathod`s leadership, the Rotary Club of Chennai Central Elite aims to continue its tradition of impactful societal contributions.
