Chennai Gears Up for Historic First Night Race at Indian Racing Festival!

The Indian Racing Festival (IRF) will host its first night race at the Chennai Formula Racing Circuit from August 30 to September 1, 2024. This historic event is the first night race on a street circuit in India.
Over three days, eight teams will compete in high-speed races, making it the festival’s most exciting season yet. Known as the "Detroit of Southern Asia," Chennai is India`s motorsports hub. The city’s rich motorsports heritage will be further enhanced by this night race.
The 3.5-kilometre Chennai Formula Racing Circuit, created by RPPL in collaboration with the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), features 19 turns, multiple chicanes, and tricky elevations. The track starts at the Island Grounds and passes several landmarks before returning to the starting point.
Approved by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the six-franchise team league is India’s premier racing event. Additionally, the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship attracts young, aspiring drivers from across the globe.
