CREDAI Tamil Nadu (State Chapter) and CREDAI Chennai (City Chapter) office bearers recently met with the Hon`ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru M K Stalin to convey their appreciation for the government`s visionary reforms in the building approval processes.
Present at the meeting were Thiru P.K. Sekarbabu, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments and CMDA; Thiru Shiv Das Meena IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu; Tmt Kakarla Usha IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department; and Thiru Anshul Mishra IAS, Member Secretary CMDA.
CREDAI expressed sincere gratitude for the introduction of the instant online approval scheme for building permits which were introduced on 22nd July 2024. This initiative enables swift approvals for residential buildings on plots up to 2,500 sq. ft. with a built-up area of up to 3,500 sq. ft., significantly expediting the construction process and addressing the state`s housing needs.
Additionally, CREDAI also appreciated the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority`s (CMDA) proposal to introduce deemed No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for high-rise buildings (HRB). The 30-day timeframe for NOCs from 21 departments, where NOCs will be deemed approved if not issued within this period, is a commendable step towards accelerating the approval process and enhancing the ease of doing business in the State.
These initiatives have the potential to significantly transform the Housing sector in the State.
