Traffic Diversions in Chennai for Independence Day Rehearsals on August 5, 9, and 14!

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced traffic diversions in the city due to rehearsals for Independence Day celebrations scheduled for today (August 5), as well as August 9 and 14. The customary August 15 event will be held at Fort St George.
 
According to an official release, traffic diversions will be in effect from 6 a.m. until the rehearsals conclude on these three days.
 
The stretch of Kamarajar Salai from Labour Statue to RBI Subway North on Rajaji Salai and Flag Staff Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
 
Vehicles heading towards Parry’s Corner via Rajaji Salai from Kamarajar Salai should take the route via Wallajah Salai, Anna Salai, Muthusamy Bridge, Muthusamy Road, RA Mandram, and NFS Road to reach Parry’s Corner.
 
Vehicles heading towards Kamarajar Salai via the Secretariat from Rajaji Salai should take the route via Parry’s Corner, NFS Road, RA Mandram, Muthusamy Road, Muthusamy Bridge, Anna Salai, and Wallajah Road to reach Kamarajar Salai.
 
Vehicles from Anna Salai intending to proceed towards Parry’s Corner and Kamarajar Salai via Flag Staff Road should take the route via Muthusamy Bridge, Muthusamy Road, RA Mandram, and NFS Road to reach Parry’s Corner, and via Anna Salai and Wallajah Road to reach Kamarajar Salai.
