In an unusual case, Dwarakanath V, a resident of Thiruninravur in Avadi, faced an unresolved issue with his BSNL landline connection after reporting it via the official WhatsApp number. He was directed to contact a BSNL employee who had retired four years ago. Despite multiple complaints, his issue remains unresolved.
Consumer activist T Sadagopan noted that complaints are often closed automatically without resolution and expressed concerns over the identity of field staff, whether they are BSNL employees or contractors.
A senior BSNL official commented that the problem with Dwarakanath’s complaint is rare and may have resulted from a system error. They assured that the matter would be investigated.
