Fire at Manali Substation Causes Power Outage in Parts of Chennai

Many parts of Chennai experienced power supply disruptions on Thursday night following a fire accident near the Manali substation in North Chennai. Tangedco Managing Director Rajesh Lakhani confirmed that the fire originated inside the substation itself. Fire and rescue services personnel were quickly deployed and were working to control the flames.
Rajesh Lakhani clarified that the fire was not due to an overload, as electricity demand was lower compared to the summer months. Despite the disruption, the power supply was restored within hours. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to ensure it does not occur again.
