Tamil Nadu Tourism is set to launch high-tech virtual tours across popular and lesser-known destinations to promote cultural heritage and boost revenue. A senior official stated the project aims to generate economic benefits, create jobs, and foster cultural exchange, targeting global audiences with access to technology.
Destinations include Sankagiri Fort, Thiruparankundram, Sadras Dutch Fort, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Hogenakkal Waterfalls, Kolli Hills, Pichavaram, Jallikattu locations, Dhanushkodi, and Yercaud.
The tours will feature 360-degree videos, 4k-8k resolution, 3D holographic guides, AI integration, and aerial route maps. An expert committee will validate the content, and the project is expected to launch in February next year.
