According to the Tamil Nadu Weatherman, the depression currently located near Nellore has lost its intensity, with no significant rainfall recorded since yesterday noon. The system will cross into land near Nellore, but it has weakened considerably, and there will be no noticeable effects as it moves inland, with sunny weather expected in the region.
For the KTCC (Chennai) area, the sun will be peeking through as the depression moves inland. With Chennai located to the south of the system, temporary winds from the west (land side) are expected. As a result, "veppa salanam" (heat convection) rains are possible from this evening through tomorrow morning. These showers will be influenced by clouds moving from the land side, rather than the sea.
Regions including Chennai, Pondicherry, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Karaikkal, and Nagapattinam may experience thunderstorms tonight through tomorrow morning. Rainfall will be sporadic, with some areas seeing showers while others may remain dry.
