An announcement from CMRL for the first time for its non-executive employees!!
The festival of lights or deepavali is round the corner. This is a very important festival in the state of Tamil Nadu. In this scenario, CMRL or Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation has made a super surprising announcement to boost the morale of about 300 workers of CMRL. It has sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs 15000 for the employees on the occasion of deepavali.
It must be taken into account that there was a demand regarding bonus for Deepavali from about 300 workers of CMRL. On Monday, a statement from CMRL mentioned that the establishment has sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs 15000 to all its non-executive employees for FY 2023-24.
Sensational piece of information is that this is the very first time such an announcement has come out from CMRL. On the other hand, permanent employees of CMRL have not received any amount since the inception of CMRL in 2015.
It was later mentioned by a member of CITU or centre Of India Trade Union that it was a welcome move. He appreciated that the CMRL has followed the government`s order to provide an ex-gratia amount to all its employees in the state run PSUs.
According to the notification from CMRL it was clear that those employees who have rendered a full year service from 1st August 2023 to 31st March 2024 shall be entitled for a full amount of Rs 15000. It added that those employees who have worked for 6 months or more during 2023-24 shall be eligible for a particular amount of ex-gratia. Point to be noted is that the ex-gratia amount has been sanctioned only for the non-executive employees of CMRL but not for the 200 permanent employees of CMRL.
