Southern Railway Suspends Platform Ticket Sales at Key Chennai Stations for Diwali Rush

To control the expected Diwali travel rush, the Chennai Division of Southern Railway has announced a temporary suspension of platform ticket sales at major stations, including Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, and Perambur. The suspension will be in effect from October 29 to October 30, 2024.
Senior citizens and passengers with medical needs are exempt from this regulation, ensuring they retain access to the platforms as required. Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with these measures to facilitate a smoother and safer experience during the festive season.
