To facilitate voter updates, Chennai city will hold special camps at 947 polling stations across the city on November 16, 17, 23, and 24. These camps, as part of an initiative by the Election Commission of India, allow residents to update voter information, including name and address changes, additions, and deletions from the voter list.
In addition to the camps, applications for changes can be submitted until November 28 at zonal offices of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC). This extended window aligns with the release of the draft voter list for Chennai’s 16 constituencies, published on October 29. The draft is accessible at GCC zonal offices (zones 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13) and at all polling stations, where residents can verify their voter information and make any necessary changes by November 28.
For new voters, including those turning 18 by January 1, 2025, Form 6 can be submitted at the camps for registration. Similarly, residents needing to update details or remove names due to relocation can fill out and submit the appropriate forms with supporting documents at the camps or GCC offices.
Additionally, voters can also apply online for updates, corrections, and new registrations via the Election Commission’s website: (https://voters.eci.gov.in), (http://voters.eci.gov.in).
These camps aim to make it easier for the public to maintain accurate voter records ahead of upcoming elections.
