CMRL to Prioritize Airport-Kilambakkam and Poonamallee-Parandur Projects

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is set to prioritize two key projects: the Airport-Kilambakkam (15.3 km) and Poonamallee-Parandur Metro corridors. Both Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) are nearly complete but require approval from the Highways Department and NHAI before submission to the State government.
The Airport-Kilambakkam project faced delays due to a redesign mandated a few months ago, aligning its viaduct with an elevated corridor using common pillars. CMRL is working to finalize these plans to expedite the projects.
