Mega Book Park to Open at Chennai Central Metro Station on World Book Day

Starting April 23, Chennai Central Metro Station will host a Mega Book Park set up by the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation (TNTBESC) at a cost of ₹1.62 crore. Spread across 5,000 sqft, the park will feature 40 publisher stalls, a cafeteria, a reading space, and a mini hall for book launches. The initiative, aimed at promoting reading culture, was chosen for the metro station due to its high footfall. Additionally, renovation work worth ₹4.58 crore is underway at Connemara Library, with improvements to the children’s library, conference hall, and reading areas, set for completion by August.
