Many students would have an inner desire to know about drones and its uses etc, but would not have got opportunities to learn. Worry not!!
There is some good news for the students studying under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme across TN now. It is now said that the students would be able to learn about pilot drones for FREE as TNUVAC or Tamil Nadu Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Corporation. The Higher Education Dept or HED is launching a free course now for the students.
It was later brought out by a senior official from the HED that by this superb scheme the students would gain practical knowledge about drones that is building them from scratch to flying etc. The students would be able to up skill them and apply drone technology in various organisations.
Pilot training and details about the course:
It is learnt that the students would be provided pilot training in a simulator and field for specific hours to ensure that candidates become trained drone operators.
There would be an introduction to the concept of drones, different types of drones plus application of drones in disaster management, surveillance, transportation and defence combat missions. The course would be totally for 9 weeks. The rules and regulations of the Directorate General for Civil Aviation would be taught to the students.
Point is that in the final phase, the students would be equipped to build a quadcopter and test the components. According to an official it was clear that once components testing gets completed then the assembly of the quadcopter and a sub system like soldering, thermal paste and 3MM tape would be discussed. It must be noted that the connection of the components would be explained and the students could perform the connection.
During the training itself, programming drones using GCS or Ground Control Software would be discussed. Once training gets completed, the students would be able to fly drones with some help from the trainers. In the final phase, final assessment programmes plus the students would be taught drone safety and quality checks etc.
