The Tamil Nadu Packaged Drinking Water Manufacturer`s Association has decided to close their units on Tuesday because they are likely to go on hunger strike in protest against the TN Pollution Control Board`s stringent licensing norms.
The manufacturers are protesting the TNPCB condition that every unit should have 2.5 acres.The strike will be on in eight places across the state simultaneously Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Cuddalore, Vellore, Krishnagiri and Trichy.
