Brass Art ware Exhibition at Poompuhar Sales Showroom

Brass Art ware Exhibition is organized by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., popularly known as Poompuhar. The exhibition had on display, a large collection of brass deities, ornately etched lamps of all shapes and sizes, incense plates and other assorted temple utilities and beautifully carved, brass inlaid, wooden tables, stools and drawers from Jodhpur.
 
Also eye-catching were 48 kg thiruvatchi temple bells, painstakingly worked temple kalasams and even a 38 kg church bell. All of the artifacts on display were for sale and also that the majority had come from Poompuhar’s own workshops in Nachiarkovil, Madurai and Vagaikulam in Tamil Nadu.
 
The exhibition is on till December 2.
 
The price range starts at Rs 50 for the small lamps and goes up to Rs 1.25 lakh for the mammoth temple bells. A special discount of 10 per cent is being offered on all items and the exhibition is expected to net around Rs 15 lakh by its closing date.
