Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal will develop into a deep depression

The depression lay at about 530 km away from Chennai, according to a bulletin released by the IMD at 6.30 pm on Friday. This will develop into a cyclonic storm and move first in the northward direction and then turn north-northeastwards. 

According to the forecast till Sunday, light to moderate rain would occur at a few places over Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu apart from Puducherry. Mainly clear weather will prevail over remaining districts of Tamil Nadu. But largely the weather is slated to remain dry, especially in interior Tamil Nadu. 

The sky would be generally cloudy. Surface wind will be strong and gusty at times. Maximum and minimum temperature would be around 28 and 24 degree Celsius respectively.
