Laparoscopy Department at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital will be inaugurated tomorrow (17th December).
The administrators of the hospital said, “ Laparoscopic surgery or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions (usually 0.5–1.5 cm) as opposed to the larger incisions needed in laparotomy. Keyhole surgery makes use of images displayed on TV monitors to magnify the surgical elements. Patients will not lose more blood and also can return home in a short span of time. This department will have 20 beds. Laparoscopy Department will have one chief doctor. He will be assisted by two doctors.”
Tamil Nadu State Health minister Dr C Vijayabaskar will inaugurate the Laparoscopy Department.
