Tamil Nadus Commercial Tax Department collects taxes to the tune of Rs 100 crore

According to Tamil Nadu Government statement, the Enforcement Wing, of Tamil Nadu`s Commercial Tax Department has collected taxes to the tune of Rs 100 crore up to the month of November as against Rs 14 crore collected last year
 
The State Minister of Commercial Taxes and Registration Department M.C.Sampath reviewed the performance of Commercial Taxes Joint Commissioners (Territorial and Enforcement) last week. After the meeting, the State Government issued a release in which it was stated that in the street survey, 4,492 bogus dealers were identified for the cancellation of registration and 1,780 unregistered dealers were identified for registration. Irregularities in stock transfer of mobile phones and edible oil involving tax effect of Rs 36 crores has been identified.
 
The Minister mentioned the online facility of declaration forms rolled out to the dealer fraternity, which has enabled them to generate online 17,84,347 ‘C’ forms and 73,084 ‘F’ forms. Further, 83 per cent of the dealers have e-filed 3,42,174 returns online and 72 per cent of the payment i.e., Rs 2,919.08 crore has been effected by e-payment in the month of December 2013, without coming to the circle offices.
