Pongal festival will be celebrated by Tamil people by showing their ultimate happiness. As per the stating, when farmer play in the land, then only we will be able to get food. Hence to thank the farmers, people are celebrating the Pongal festival. In the same way, the farmers are celebrating the Pongal festival in thanking the nature. Pongal festival is also called as ‘Aruvadai Thirunall’ and it is considered to be a very important day.
Hence has to be very happy in this day and celebrate it very grandly. By considering various draught seasons, plant damage, last year for the Pongal celebration for about 1 Crore and 84 Lakh family with a ration card are granted with Rs.20 valued 1 kilo raw rice, Rs.40 valued 1 kilo sugar and Rs.100 .
In the same way, for the year 2014,
on behalf of the Pongal festival, the TamilNadu people with the rice ration
card will be getting 1 kilo raw rice, 1 kilo sugar and Rs.100 as Pongal gift
and it will reach the people before Pongal festival. Government is spending about
281 Crore for this grants.
