Isolated showers likely in Chennai and Tamil Nadu

Due to a low pressure near the southern coast intensified into a depression, coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, are likely to receive isolated showers in the next three days.The depression, which was expected to cross Sri Lanka on Sunday midnight, will have its effect on southern and coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, according to the meteorological department.
“The movement of the depression is
slow, but the state will receive heavy rainfall in some areas over the next two
days,” said Y E A Raj, deputy director general of IMD.
