Chennai Regional Passport Office issues passport in 19 days

In a letter addressed to director generals of police of various States, The Union ministry of external affairs has mentioned that Chennai RPO issues a passport to its applicants in 19 days. The police verification is done in a short span of time. It was also mentioned in the letter that the Passport Seva Kendras functioning in Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy took more time. The Kendra in Madurai is taking 47 days to issue a passport.
