Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has announced a 3-fold increase in the ceiling of the subsidy for small scale industrial units to buy & install generator sets to overcome the power cuts.
The subsidy was
Rs.1.5 Lakhs. Now, it has become Rs. 4.5 Lakhs.The rise in the ceiling will apply
to MSMEs installing generators of up to 320 KVA for their industrial needs.
CM also announced
that infrastructure development activities have started at a cost of Rs. 2
Crores at Malumichampatti Industrial estate near Coimbatore. These would cover laying
of roads, planting avenue trees, building storm water drains, installing street
lamps and pipelines for drinking water.
A number of schemes
being implemented for the development of MSME sector in the State was
highlighted. It also included the CM’s scheme to encourage the development of
first-generation entrepreneurs, the MSME Cluster Development Program and the
programs implemented by the Tamil Nadu Small Industries development
Corporation (SIDCO) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation (TIIC).
