The Jan Ahaar Hotel
at Chennai Central and Southern Railway (SR) station are in high demand of
makeover. With the standard food item of idli and pongal, the Jan Ahaar Hotel
tunes about Rs.65, 000 profit now-a-days. After refurbishing its environment,
the southern Railway station plans to bring in Dosa Corner for its new outlook.
A senior officer in
SR says that, they are having a plan of bringing in a pattern of private retail
food shops, which offer a variety of hot dosa’s along with hot tea and coffee.
The Dosa corner will attain its real crowd by its magnetizing affordable cost.
The price per dosa will be around Rs.20, which is thirty percent lesser than
the pantry car charges.
Since eating inside
the trains will be pleasurable, the SR has planned for altering its interiors
of the existing pantry cars with polished stainless steel. During its
overhauling work which will be undertaken every 18 months in Perambur Carriage
Works, the SR has decided to change all the panels, roofs, windows of the
existing pantry cars in all coaches and it will be re fitted with stainless
components. Also the existing kitchen will be altered with stainless steel
flooring and ventilation system will get introduced using exhaust fans.
