The Met department has been announcing the withdrawal of the North-East Monsoon season and forecasting warmer days.

Due to high level of moisture and the reduction in cooling, the minimum temperature has risen. This trend of increasing temperature will continue in the coming weeks. Hotter days or summer effect may be experienced from even March or April.

The poor North-East monsoon might cause severe water shortage during summer. Against the normal expected rainfall of 85.72 mm, it was only 43.68 mm, the worst in the last 10 years. The situation in other districts is also the same.
