New facility Introduced – Electric Power Consumers can pay the EB Bills at any of 110 cities
Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited has 9 zones. From 2008, the consumers have been availing the facility to pay the EB Bills at any of the zonal offices.
TANGEDCO has decided
to take some new steps using the advanced technology development.A new
technology department has been created for this improvement plan.
All consumer-related
data has been brought together under the new set up enabling modern, safe, and
quick services including the payment of Electricity Bills.
110 cities in Tamil
Nadu, having more than 30,000 consumers, will be provided with the new facility
of paying their Electricity bills from any of these 110 cities irrespective of
their power-connection location. Residents of other cities will continue
payment as per the usual procedure.
With this project in
progress, the EB payment process has been temporarily withdrawn. Once this is
completed, depending on the public response, the plan will be extended to other
places. Other facilities such as payment through internet will continue.
