New 400 KW Sub- Thermal Power Plant in Manali

To expand the Vallur Thermal Power plant and for the purpose of hauling the produced electricity to various sub divisions, a brand new 400 KW Sub- Thermal Power Plant will be soon be initiated in Manali, avowed by TamilNadu Electricity Board.

Power Cut:  TamilNadu Electricity Board and National Thermal Plant Cooperation conjointly constructing a Thermal Power plant in Vallur which constitutes three units producing 500 MW each. As of now two units have started producing the electricity. A new plant with two units producing 600 MW each in North Chennai has been in progress. These two thermal plants will serve the electricity for Chennai residents.

Due to inefficient Sub- Thermal stations surrounding the Thermal Power Plant, public is suffering more power cuts in the recent days. Moreover, TamilNadu Sipcot Organization has been organizing an Industrial Park in Thervoy Kandigai, Thiruvallur district. Many domestic and international organizations will soon occupy this Industrial Park.

TamilNadu Electricity Board has decided to frame up a 400 KW Sub Station (Gas Insulator Sub Station) at a cost of Rs. 200 Crore. The electricity from this substation will be served to the residents of Thervoy Kandigai, Korattur, Tandayarpet, Alamadi, Panchetti, and Pulianthope areas.
