President Pranab Mukherjee has been conferred the Rotary movement’s highest recognition, the Award of Honour, in the context of India’s victory over polio.
Ron Burton, President of Rotary International, presented the award on February 11 and greeted Mr. Mukherjee on behalf of the 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide, for the leadership he provided for the eradication of polio in India.
Mr. Mukherjee appreciated the Rotary movement’s service to humanity worldwide especially its support for polio eradication.
