Stressing on immediate action on their 7-point demand including pay on par with central government teachers and cancellation of the new pension scheme, 1,00,000 primary school teachers are set to go on strike from 6th March.
They were on strike on the same issue last 26th &27th February.
The director of the primary school Education has ordered that the schools should not close because of this strike and the salary of the teachers on strike should be deducted. The order informs:
The Tamil Nadu primary education teachers’ union has declared to go on strike from 6th march. The schools should not remain closed on this reason. Temporary teachers should be employed to conduct the classes. The list of teachers on strike should be informed to the primary school directorate over telephone. The salary for the 1-day strike should be cut. Leave applications on 6th March should not be sanctioned
