Immigrant workers finger prints have been collected by Police

B. Uma Maheswari, female employee with the Tata Consultancy Services, was found dead at the SPICOT IT Park in Siruseri, India.Maheswari, a 23-year-old software professional, had gone missing on February 13.Police say that she was murdered, based on post-mortem revealing stab injuries in her stomach and abdomen.
 
Two persons were arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 24-year-old IT woman employee here. The arrested construction workers have been identified as Uttam Mandal (24) and Ram Mandal (21) of Malda district in West Bengal, police said. They were migrant labourers from West Bengal.
 
On the Old Mahabalipuram Road, there are places such as Kalipatur,Navalur , Kelampakkam and other places. The last one year has seen activities from leading real estate and construction companies from other states. Some of the builders who are active in this area are Akshaya Pvt Ltd, Hiranandani,Mantri Developers, XS Real,Puravankara Projects, L&T Constructions, DLF Group, Appaswamy Builders, Olympia Group, Radiance Realtors, Vijay Shanthi Builders, Aayush Builders, Naveen Construction, Millennium Foundations, Suryavardhan Estates Private Limited, Jain Housing & Constructions, RAMS Builders, Singapore-based Ascendas, Bangalore-based RMZ, Arihant, Doshi & Doshi, Rajyog and Prince foundations Ltd. Most of the developers are also offering amenities like health clubs, sports facilities, supermarkets etc. in this belt so that the residents don`t need to travel to the city for those. Construction of a state-of-the art shopping mall with a hotel and cinema is also in progress
 
For construction purposes thousands and thousands of workers from Andhra, Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh are employed. These people are staying there. Majority of these people have the habit of taking liquor, tobacco and drugs. During the day time, they work for the builders and in the night the waylay the people, sexually molesting the women who work in the IT firms.
 
In the recent times house breaking crimes in the Kelampakkam and surrounding areas are in rise. The thieves loot the money and jewels. Apart from this the people are also waylaid. Because of this, police are suspecting the immigrant workers and are keenly monitoring them. 
 
At this juncture, the Kancheepuram District Police Superintendent Vijayakumar on suspicion got hold of the immigrant workers who were straying in the road and took them to the police station and collected the details of them and also took their finger prints. The same was also ordered to the other police station located on the OMR.   
 
Acting on the orders, the police have informed that so far 140 immigrant workers  details and finger prints have been taken.
