India Post – Resurfaced with Advanced Auto Sort Technology

With the advancement in technologies, the India Post has become increasingly irrelevant and exhausted much of its revenue.  However, it has been set ready to comeback with skill brawn. 

India Post will soon furnish the set up of high-tech automated mail dealing out system in Pazhavanthangal.  This auto-sort machinery will be well equipped to read and sort letter and postcards of several different sizes, with a top figure dimension of up to 324mm x 458mm. It will be located along the GST Road, revealed by the postmaster general Merwin Alexander on Thursday. 

Under the 12th Five Year Plan, the Centre government has allocated Rs.250 Crores for three automated centers including the turnkey project in Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad, excluding the land cost. Hereafter, the staffs in the India post will be working with the bins instead of the bags, proudly said by the staff at the new center. Analogous centers will be in operation in New Delhi and Kolkata.

India Post has released a handbook on standardization of mails which guides users on how letters should be addressed and handled, envelope sizes and postal address.India post has been hauling out the massive exercise of conveying details to newly registered voters through e-post.
