Cinepolis is a Mexican chain of movie theaters. It currently operates 84 screens in the country across 13 cities.

Cinepolis will be investing nearly Rs 150 Crore in 2014 to count up 60 new screens. Come April, 14 of these screens will open in Thane`s Viviaana Mall, where Cinepolis` latest expansion is to take shape. The goal is to scale up to 400 screens by 2017.

Cinepolis entered a deal with South Korean company CJ Group to use its 4DX technology in Cinepolis properties. 4DX is a technology that allows movie watchers sensory stimulation while watching the movie. This includes certain kinds of motion, effects like bubbles, mist, smoke etc., and certain kinds of smell.

The cost of the 4DX screens will be 50 to 70 % higher than the normal tickets in order to compensate for the cost of the technology and service, reported by the Alejandro Ramirez, global CEO of Cinepolis.

Cinepolis have food and beverage section inside the complex itself. Its luxury cinema brand VIP, focuses on providing the complete movie going experience. This includes stewards taking the order at your seat, valet parking, reclining seating among other things.

This is the kind of in house services will help ramp up the Food &Beverage revenues.
