Wellbeing of Children Declines over Summer Vacation: Lack of Physical Activity

Now-a-days children are fond of spending their vacation period over gaming consoles and tablets along with a sack of crisps and carbonated beverages.

Many researchers have found out that, there might be considerable health deterioration due to lack of physical activity among the children during the summer holidays.

The EduSports, which shapes the sports curriculum for schools, proclaims that fitness levels of the kids will recede after the vacation.

The dawn of the internet era, brings fall off in the physical work outs during the summer vacation, the study revealed.

The study involved wrapping around 77, 699 children between the ages of 7 to 17 across 68 cities. This study involves various sports fitness parameters among children including flexibility, muscular strength, sprinting and body mass index (BMI).

This survey has three phases including first at the beginning of the academic year 2011-2012, second at the end of this academic year after offered from a planned sports program and at last after the summer vacation.

The results has found that, children lost both their higher and lower body potency after the break and also only 59 % of the children has equal galloping potency.

Children in Tamil Nadu illustrated a higher fall than the national standards in most constraints, aside from higher and lower mass power and flexibility.
