As the US is rushing up towards economic recovery, more numbers of Indian IT services players are urged to bag H-1B work visas. The US citizenship and immigration services (USCIS) state that H-1B application for FY15 reached its upper limit right during the first five days of its opening on 1st April. The application counting process is still on and hence finalization on availing visas is not yet done. Over 65000 visas are allotted for general category visas and 20000 for advanced degree exemption.
It is to be noted that this is the second consecutive year for the H-1B application to reach the cap within just 5 days. During last year April, over 124000 visa applications got filed for FY14. As per norms, the application for next financial year will be opened only by April 2015 which implies that IT companies should be prepared to identify exceptional candidates to fill US vacancies next year.
