April 24 is a special day to show your patriotism and act as a responsible citizen of India. At the same time, keep in mind to stay protected from burning heat. With the meteorological department saying the minimum and maximum temperatures to be 26 and 36 degree Celsius, doctors have given their advice to stay hydrated in order to overcome the hot sun when you are waiting in the long queue, spending long hours. Overcome your thirst by carrying necessary water bottles and refrain yourself from falling sick.

Speaking to the consultant general physician of Fortis Malar Hospital, Dr Vinod Premanand, he said the hot weather prevailing in Chennai will easily dehydrate our body. He cautioned that those with chronic kidney ailments and hypertension should take special care. Additionally, diabetics should be even more cautious in managing their day tomorrow.
