Yearly, about 30 to 50 thousand people get affected by Malaria infection in Chennai, stated by TamilNadu Public Health Department director, S.Illango.
Today, 25
April is declared as the World Malaria Prevention Day.
World Health Organization (WHO) has advised the world nations including India
to follow up, Integrated Malaria-Mosquito Extermination measures.
Also the WHO
states that, along with the health department, Internal Managements, Revenue
departments, Public service departments has to conjointly work to avert the
Mosquito extermination plans, so as to entirely eradicate the malaria
infection.
Types of
Malaria:
Below are the
statement given by TamilNadu Public Health Department director, S.Illango,
regarding Malaria:
Anopheles mosquitoes
are the type of mosquito which spreads Malaria infection across the world.
These mosquitoes have the practice of breeding and lay eggs in pure water, and
increase their production.
Common
Malaria, Vivax Malaria, Falciparum Malaria, Ovale Malaria, Male Malaria are the
available types of Malaria.
Malaria Types
in TamilNadu:
TamilNadu
includes three types of malaria namely, Sea Malaria, River Malaria and City
Malaria. Places like Chennai, Tirupur, Coimbatore and Erode are highly infected
by City Malaria. For the past 30 years, 60% infection cases have been
registered in Chennai.
Free Malaria treatment will be served to the public for their quick recovery within a week time, stated Chennai Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, director K. Subramanian.
