The Annual 10 days Panguni great festival [Panguni Perviza or Aruvathu Muvar Viza] is a big draw with lakhs of people participating. The festival indicates the onset of summer. It is also project as tourist a festival. The festival starts at 7.30 hours on March 20, 2010, Saturday with traditional hoisting of the temple flag. The car Festival, a part of the great festival will happen on 26th March,10, when the Temple car with the presiding deity and the Amman seated in the car, will be taken around through the Mada Streets. Arupathumoovar or 63 Nayanmars – the great devotees of Lord Siva will be taken around in a procession on 27th March, 2010.
