Why hot weather continues even after ‘Agni Naskshatram’? Chennai Meteorological Centre explains!

Posted on: 13/Jun/2014 3:19:27 PM
The scorching in Tamil Nadu has not abated even after the period of ‘AgnI Naskshatram’ is over. The temperature crossed 100 Degrees Celsius in 9 cities in Tamil Nadu. Chennai recorded 105.08 degrees Celsius.

Chennai Meteorological Centre official explained this phenomenon:

A depression formed in the Arabian Sea has intensified into a storm cantering around the Arabian Sea. It is getting further intensified. In this process, it absorbs all the surrounding humidity and moisture.

This is now situated near the city of Ahmadabad continuing to absorb all surrounding moisture & humidity.

This is the reason why the lesser humidity in Chennai increases the heat. Coastal areas are affected more by this phenomenon.
