A new system will be introduced for the M. Ed. Course General counselling in this academic year. This is as practiced in the general counselling for B. Ed. Course.

In this system the candidates applying for M. Ed. Course need to send individual applications to the colleges applied.

The candidates who apply for engineering courses under the government reservation quota do not need to apply individually to different colleges. They need to submit only one application to the Anna University. They can select their college during the Single Window System General counselling.

This system is currently practiced for B. Ed. Courses. The candidates applying for B. Ed. Need not send individual applications to the different colleges. However, as per the current system, the candidates who apply for M. Ed. Course need to send individual applications to the different colleges applied for.

The Tamil Nadu Government has decided to do away with this system from the current academic year. So, the candidate applying for M. Ed. Course needs to send only one application.

There are 455 seats available for M. Ed. Course in the Government & government-aided colleges.

Private colleges do not provide any seats for B. Ed. & M. Ed. for any government reservation quota. The National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE) has recommended that each college should offer a maximum of 35 seats.

The general counselling for this year’s B. Ed. & M. Ed. Has been entrusted to the Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Education University.
