NEW PALAR BRIDGE INAUGURATION TODAY
The
long pending Palar bridge will now inaugurated by Durai Murugan Minister for
Law, Courts and Prisons on Friday. It will be held under the presidentship of
the Minister for Highways and Minor Ports Vellakovil Swaminathan at Virudhambut
on the northern side of the bridge at 5 p.m. The bridge has been constructed by
the National Highways and the State Highways Department, across the Palar in
S.Jagathrakshakan,
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, would be the chief
guest at the function.

inauguration is being eagerly awaited by road-users of

traffic rules regarding the entry into the two bridges and the route to be
taken by the different vehicles would be announced by Collector C. Rajendran at
a meeting of the District Traffic Advisory Committee to be chaired by him at
the Collectorate here at 10.30 a.m. on Friday.
