CONSUMER ADVISORY GROUP TO SUPPLEMENT STATEWIDE CONSUMER HELPLINE IS PLANNED
K.Rajaraman, Commissioner, Civil Supplies and
Consumer Protection Department announced that a Consumer Advisory Group will be
set up in the city within a fortnight to help consumers understand their rights
and fight for them. It will initially function from Ezhilagam; later will move
to T Nagar,
He was addressing a seminar on ‘Safe
Investments` jointly organized by the Department and the Federation of Consumer
Organizations’ Tamilnadu and Pondicherry (FEDCOT) here on Saturday. Mr.Rajaraman said that before investing the
investors should familiarize themselves with provisions such as the Tamil Nadu
Protection of Interest of Depositors (TNPID) Act.
