Farmers/agriculturists having an account in State Bank of India will have sms facility on agricultural news!

State Bank of India is all set to introduce a new facility for sending sms (short message services) about agricultural news to all farmers/agriculturists who have savings or other accounts with them.
There will be a nominal monthly charge for this service.
Weather news, news on prices of fertilisers, treatment for plant diseases, prospects of rains, news on government schemes, and on-going market prices, etc will be sent as sms.
This will be introduced in 9 states.
This is joint effort with SBI & Reuters’ agency.
