Forty-two special counters, including 12 for senior citizens, will work for filing of Income Tax returns, for which the last date is July 31.
The routine counters for filing of returns at the Income Tax offices would work on Saturday and Sunday, while the special counters would work on July 28, 30 and 31. Help desks would assist in the verification of PAN details.
People drawing a salary of above Rs. 5 lakh would have to file returns online. There would be staffers with laptops to help those desirous of e-filing.
Special counters were being opened by IT offices in Tiruchi, Madurai and Coimbatore, too. The last date for filing of returns would be July 31.
