Corporation looks for spots to locate Amma markets

Corporation of Chennai will soon identify locations for 15 Amma weekly markets, one in every zone. However, land identification for the market in core areas is likely to be a Herculean task as the mayor Saidai S Duraisamy said each market will be spread over an acre and have 200 shops and parking facilities. The corporation council meet has also decided to increase the number of shelters for homeless from the existing 28 to 40. It also invited organizations and trusts to run these shelters.
