Eyeing on the multi-billion cloud opportunity in the country, e-tailer conglomerate Amazon is analyzing plans to set up data centre in India.
The e-commerce giant is looking forward to expand its venture in the Indian market where similar players like Google and IBM offer similar services.
During his speech at the FICCI event, founder and Chief of Amazon, Jeff Bezos said their company has always been in look out for new locations. He adds that Amazon has grown to great levels in addition to the consumer business it handles. New data centres are getting built and evaluations are on to identify the right place in India, he added.
Commenting on the internet usage in the country, he says it is really stunning to know the pace at which internet is getting penetrated across the nation.
Microsoft has a similar story too. Microsoft, the software giant recently confirmed to set up three data centres in India. They aim at expanding their commercial cloud service within end of 2015.
Amazon considers India as a fast growing marketplace.
