In order to keep the rising price of potato under control, the central government has taken a decision to import potato for the first time in the country’s history.
Potato is being sold at Rs. 35/- to Rs. 40/- per kg all over the country including Delhi. With the trend of price increase, the central minister for agriculture, Mr. Radhamohan Singh informed that actions will be taken keep this under control.
In order to counter the shortfall, potato will be imported and accordingly, tenders will be called for.
