According to government sources, the Modi government is not too interested in taking action against the nascent e-commerce industry in India.

Owing to the recent commotion that was initiated by e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, etc, all small traders and retailers got unnerved stating that these large companies are into predatory pricing. Demands were on to look into the source of funds for these online websites.

Government sources say that the government is not in anyway eyeing to ban the use of these e-commerce websites or to bring any regulation for their functioning. We need to arrive at the terms with modern technology, it adds. It is also said that it is not important about where the sale happens – be it in retail store or online portals. It is all about the money that enters the market through these sales. People buy products which is grooming the market to healthy extents and increases market related activities.
