In an effort to improve safety levels of cars in India, new rules and regulations are set to be imposed in the year 2017. According to this, cars that are sold from 2017 should have got qualified in high speed collision testing.
Furthermore, facilities including technically advanced break application, reminder for wearing seat belt, and few more safety measures are also to be incorporated. The required structures to carry out the testing will be over in another three years. In addition, car manufacturers need to be given sufficient time to incorporate the required safety features in the car. Owing to this, the rule will be mandated only by the year 2020 until which the manufacturers can take time for implementing the features.
Renowned cars in India are found to get failed in high speed collision tests. Following the fact, this new rule is all set to be implemented.
